Course information

The Clinical Trials programme is structured so that you can gain specialised knowledge in clinical trials while keeping a manageable schedule that complements your professional responsibilities.

The programme is tailored for you to study part-time, requiring a time commitment of 15-20 hours a week.

Year 1 (Postgraduate Certificate)

  • In Term 1, you will study ‘Introduction to Randomised Controlled Trials and Medical Statistics’.
  • In Term 2, you will study ‘Ethical and Regulatory Considerations in Clinical Trials’.
  • In Term 3, you will choose one elective course.

After you successfully complete all three courses in Year 1, giving you a total of 60 credits, you can exit and apply for a Postgraduate Certificate, or continue to the second year.

Year 2 (Postgraduate Diploma)

You will choose three elective courses in Year 2 – one in each of the three terms.

After you successfully complete all six courses from Years 1 and 2, giving you a total of 120 credits, you can exit and apply for a Postgraduate Diploma, or continue to the third year.

Year 3 (Master of Science)

In Year 3, you will undertake your own project, which is an opportunity to conduct in-depth research on a topic of your choice within the field of clinical trials. Once you have started this project, you must submit your dissertation within one academic year.
